Waylon and Cassandra
Oregon Wedding Photography

One of the exciting things about Oregon wedding photography is that you get to travel and see the state. Most of my work tends to be Western Oregon, but I’m always game to hit the open highway and travel for a client.

Waylon and Cassandra’s March wedding wasn’t too much of a haul, but it did get me out of the city and into my old stomping grounds–Oregon wine country! If you haven’t been to this part of the world, go. Go now. It is so stunningly beautiful. I actually went to college in Willamette Valley wine country and the vistas are amazing. Rolling hills, mountain views, forest views. It really has it all.

Waylon and Cassandra selected Vista Hills Vineyard for their ceremony and reception. What a fantastic location! I hadn’t been to that particular winery before, and I was in for a real treat! The view was spectacular, the staff was accommodating, and the amazing weather on the wedding day offered a fantastic sunset ceremony. Waylon and Cassandra were bathed in warm light as they exchanged vows. Who could ask for more?!

On a personal note, it was such a joy to witness (and photograph!) Waylon and Cassandra’s celebration. Last year I got an email from Waylon asking about engagement portraits at the coast. He told me he was going to pop the question and wanted to document it through photographs. Together we hatched a secret plan to capture the moment. I drove down to Yachats the day of the shoot and did a total stake-out on the beach. Watching someone propose (even though I was too far away to hear it) was very emotional. Bearing witness to the question and then being asked to be a part of their wedding was so fulfilling. It was like watching their relationship come full circle. I felt like they had been life long friends of mine. Ahh. (Have I mentioned I love my job?!)
