Back in October I was fortunate to meet Geraldine Carter, owner of Tres Jolie. I was one of the official photographers for FashioNXT and Tres Jolie was a sponsor. When we met back stage I had the opportunity to watch her hair extension products be applied in real time. The results were absolutely stunning.
Shortly after the show, I was able to catch up with Geraldine and her husband Tom. As we talked about their business and where they were taking it, I found a lot of parallels on the way I run my business. I knew we had to build a long term relationship. I was eager to collaborate on Portland beauty photography with them.
If you aren’t familiar with Tres Jolie, the company is an official US distributor of Balmain hair extensions and related hair products. These fantastic products are available at high end salons throughout the Portland Metro Area. You’ve probably seen Balmain hair a thousand times and didn’t even know it. Their amazing hair extensions are worn by “everyday people” all over the world, as well as celebrities like Rihanna.
My first official project with Tres Jolie is really a commercial shoot, but I decided to share it here because it yielded some amazing portraits of our model. The shoot was hosted by The National Beauty–an ultra hip salon in Downtown Portland. Co-owner Heidi Cuthbert provided the hair extension application and styling. The National Beauty staff provided make-up.
