Model Students

Have you always wanted to be a model? Well, now is your chance!

Our Model Student Program is a way to gain modeling experience and build an amazing portfolio. You’ll work with one of Oregon’s top photography studios and build your resume during the process. You’ll learn how to rock-the-shot and you’ll get to see your images in marketing and promotional materials for Acorn Studios.

When it comes to our Model Student Reps, you DON’T have to be a perfect size 0 or have a runway swagger. Heck, you don’t even need modeling experience. You just have to be full of attitude (the positive kind!) and really embrace who you are as an individual. We believe that gorgeous is about what’s on the inside and charisma is more important than the perfect skin or teeth. Our Model Reps are all shapes and sizes—and we think that in itself is pretty cool!

What will I get when I am accepted into the Model Student program?

• A complimentary one-hour photo shoot. For juniors, this session will need to be completed by May 1 of your junior year. (A $125 value!)
• Personalized Model Representative Cards (your business cards) which are yours to hand out to friends at school
• Three web-ready images posted to our website, Facebook page and blog so you can link to them
• Three web-ready images for your Facebook page
• A video link with all of the images from your session to share with friends or on Facebook (a $75 value!)
• Exclusive invitations to photo shoot events–Trash the Dress, fashion photo shoots and more!
• A 25% discount on prints and most studio products
• Studio credits toward your senior portrait purchase for every friend or classmate your refer to Acorn Studios

So what’s required?

• You must be a freshman, sophomore or junior high school student in Oregon or SW Washington
• You are not currently a model representative for another photographer
• You have your parent/guardian’s support and permission
• You agree to have Acorn Studios shoot your senior pictures/yearbook photo. A good faith deposit of $50 shows your commitment. The deposit will be applied toward your senior portraits during your senior year. To be completely clear, the Model Student program is free. All of the $50 deposit goes toward your senior portrait session and prints during your senior year of school.

Sounds cool! How do I apply?

Once you have your permission from your parents/guardians, application is easy! Simply complete our Application Form. Applications for freshmen and sophomores are accepted at any time. For juniors, your application is due no later than March 31 of your junior year. Once selected, you and your parent/guardian will need to sign our Model Representative Agreement and pay your $50 good faith deposit. It is that simple. We can not stress it enough. The Model Student program is completely FREE. The $50 deposit will be applied toward your yearbook photo session during your senior year.
