Our services are not cookie cutter and we strive to document your day in a way that is as unique as you are.

We know wedding photography can be an important decision (and a bit overwhelming at times!). Our goal is to make it as stress-free as possible. Next Steps
You’ve looked at the Acorn Studios Wedding Guide and now you’re ready to take the next step. Here is what happens next:
- Book an appointment for our Meet and Greet appointment. This is a complimentary one hour appointment where you’ll get to experience Acorn Studios first hand! This appointment is your chance to “try it before you buy it!” If you are in the Newport, Oregon area, we’ll sit down for 45 minutes to talk about your day and answer questions you have. We’ll then spend 15 minutes doing a mini engagement shoot for you and your fiancé. You’ll get a little taste what it’s like to work with Acorn Studios and decide if we are a good fit. About 48 hours after the shoot, you’ll receive 3 web-ready, watermarked images to share on Facebook and social media websites. Those are yours to keep no matter what! If you decide to book Acorn Studios for your wedding, you’ll receive the print-ready, watermark-free versions of those images, PLUS two more images at no charge. That’s a $375 value! Not visiting Newport? No problem! We are always happy to meet with potential clients via FaceTime or Skype talk about your big day! We guarantee the same fun conversation, just without the mini engagement shoot after.
- Pay your deposit. A non-refundable deposit of $300 is required to hold your wedding date. Once it is received, the date is yours and no other weddings will be booked that day. Weddings are booked on a first come, first served basis, so we recommend securing your date as soon as possible. (Wedding day details can follow!) Peak wedding season runs from Memorial Day to mid-October and dates are often in high demand.
- Complete your Wedding Services Agreement. It is okay if you are still hamming out details for your big day. The Wedding Services Agreement is more about providing your contact information, a general idea of when you need your photographer onsite and accepting the industry-standard terms and conditions of service. We will provide you with a copy of our Wedding Services Agreement following the Meet and Greet appointment. You may also view and print our Wedding Services Agreement.
- Think about those magical moments you want documented. EVERY wedding is unique. We’ve never been to two that are exactly alike. To help guide you in your planning and aid in your discussion about what’s important to document by a professional photographer, we’ve put together a Wedding Photography Planner. This is a tool for you to prioritize those “must have” images. It will also help you decide what is important to have Acorn Studios document and what can be documented by friends or family.
- Make a list of formal portraits. This step is not required, but many couples find it immensely helpful in keeping their day running smoothly and their photography budget on track. Simply start a list of those formal portraits you can’t miss. As people RSVP, add them to the list as appropriate. We recommend starting with the largest group first, and working your way down to smaller groups. Many couples find that providing this list to Acorn Studios ahead of time, and also having one onsite at the wedding, helps us soar through those family-pleasing formal portraits and gets you to your celebration quicker!
- Take a deep breath and relax. Once you’ve booked Acorn Studios as your documentary wedding photographer, you can sigh a big breath of relief and move on with your wedding planning. About three weeks prior to the wedding, Acorn Studios will be contacting you to finalize details of the wedding (times, locations, etc.) and discuss any must have images. This is your chance to also inform us of any special nuances we should know about.
