The NEW Model Student (Model Representative) Program is Here!

I am really excited to introduce my new model representative program: Model Students! This program is an exciting way for high school freshman, sophomore and juniors to fulfill their modeling dreams while earning credits toward their senior portraits.

The program is really quite simple. Once accepted into the program, students receive a complimentary photo shoot, model representative cards, invitations to future shoots, and more! They’ll get amazing modeling experience and pictures for their portfolio. Plus the photos will be used in Acorn Studios marketing, which means more exposure!

One of the things I love most about this program, is that you don’t have to have modeling experience or be a perfect size 0. This program is open to teens of all shapes, sizes and nationalities. It is about building self-esteem, making the high school years even more fun, and giving them another item for the resume or college application.

I work with some of the Northwest’s most talented professional models. So Model Student participants will learn from my experience shooting fashion and lifestyle photography.

The proram is FREE to join. Once accepted, I do ask for a commitment to allow Acorn Studios to do their senior portraits/yearbook photo. The program is not limited to just the Portland Metro Area. Students from SW Washington, Newport, Waldport, Oakland, Sutherlin and Roseburg are all encouraged to apply. Shoots will be held in Portland, Newport/Waldport and Roseburg.

One of the great things about being a portrait photographer is getting to meet new people and hear their stories. From time to time, I also get to learn about great new products on the market.

When Vivienne came into the studio, I knew it was going to be a great session. She was outgoing, fun to work with and easy to talk to. Vivienne came into the studio for new head shots to use in marketing materials for her company Haute Naked–a local company that creates luxurious bath and skin products.

During our time together, I learned what a go-getter truly is! Vivienne told me how Haute Naked got its start and where she is planning to take the brand. I also found out that in addition to a managing a great brand and creating new products, she also is a marketing consultant, fashion blogger and mom. Wow! I am impressed by her ability to balance it all.

Of course, we didn’t just spend the time together talking. (Although I could have chatted with Vivienne all day!) We also made some great portraits of this natural beauty! I particularly love the strength that radiates from the last image.

Portland Baby Photography

I suppose if you read enough of my posts, you’ll quickly realize that I LOVE babies. I always have. I always will. I’m a mom, so every baby I see reminds me that my daughter was once that small. Where does the time go? *sigh* Luckily, as a professional photographer, I get to relive my memories and help families make theirs through beautiful baby photography.

Little, angelic Ava came into the studio today and she just melted my heart. From those big brown eyes to those sweet curls, she oozed adorable. Her good nature, and photogenic looks really made my afternoon. I hope I have many more opportunities to photograph this natural beauty in the years to come. If she’s this gorgeous at 4 months old, image how beautiful she’ll be as she grows into a lovely young lady!

Vera

Maternity Portrait Photographer

As a maternity portrait photographer, there is something special about having the opportunity to celebrate the beauty of motherhood. There are no words that can express how beautiful an expectant mother is. Expectant mothers really do have a special glow that is unlike anything you will ever see. It is such a pleasure for me to capture this beauty.

This month I had the pleasure of photographing Vera during this very amazing time in her life. Vera already has an active toddler at home, so this session was a quiet break for her to celebrate and focus the new baby. Vera came into the studio alone, and this session was 100% about her and that growing baby.

For Vera’s maternity session, I wanted to draw on my fine art skills. I didn’t want the stereotypical maternity photos you are used to seeing. Instead I wanted to create a portrait that really portrays the quiet before the storm.

If you are expecting, my new Bump & Baby session is a great way to celebrate one of life’s most amazing wonders. The experience is broken down into two sessions: One for the bump. One for the baby.
